California Cartage implements Trinium’s transportation management system at its K&R Transportation business unit California Cartage Company, a full service logistics service provider, has implemented Trinium-TMS at one of the company’s intermodal drayage business units. California Cartage is one of the largest intermodal trucking companies on the west coast, operating a fleet of over 1000 drivers. Trinium Technologies is a logistics software vendor based in Torrance, CA providing integrated business solutions to trucking companies, 3PLs, public warehouse operators, and container freight stations. California Cartage selected Trinium as a business partner due to the depth of their technical staff, the scalability and flexibility of their applications, and their concentration on the intermodal drayage market. “Partnering with California Cartage is a key milestone in our strategy to become the premiere TMS vendor for the intermodal trucking industry”, said Dennis Lane, vice president of sales and marketing at Trinium Technologies. K & R Transportation, which operates a fleet of 280 drivers, is the first California Cartage business unit to go “live” on Trinium-TMS. The graphical user interface provides a real-time front end for dispatch operations, at the same time streamlining all administrative and accounting processes. “We’ve evaluated various TMS’ in the past but none of which provided the scalability to manage large transaction volumes across several different business units. Trinium met the requirements of our technical team and our operations management. Trinium-TMS will enable us to streamline our operations and improve customer service levels,” said Sandy Pruett, director of information systems at California Cartage Company. Trinium-TMS is managing K & R’s harbor and rail trucking operations based in Wilmington, California. The system also interfaces with Epicor, California Cartage’s corporate accounting system. California Cartage also purchased Trinium’s Document Imaging, EDI, eModal, Weblink, and Event Management modules for a complete business solution. With Trinium-TMS, K&R Transportation expects to improve operational efficiencies, reduce costs, improve customer service, and compress its billing cycle.
